An absence at the observatory

Two people face a portal. It opens; the child's place is suddenly empty. ECHOES is a solo cinematic adventure that begins with this small, visible event. Nobody delivers a speech about the world. A direction of movement, a fading light or a familiar shape in a ruin suggests what happened and where to go next.

The unfamiliar sky initially suggests another planet. Look again at the paired observatory windows, the clock stopped at the same time, and the double-triangle mark. The story changes the meaning of things you have already seen. This guide leaves the final relationship between the figures unexplained. The interface currently uses Korean; the story has no spoken dialogue.

Six chapters, twelve scene checkpoints

The Absence introduces movement and a raised power console. Beneath the Tide connects a pump and a weighted floor plate. Sleeping Sentinels asks you to stop and observe moving light. The Memory Garden overlaps two versions of the same space. The Returning Shadow changes how you use movement and waiting. The Last Dawn gathers the earlier traces at the portal's heart.

Each chapter has two scenes. The exit is the portal on the right; required mechanisms restore its light. Falling or entering a hazard returns you to the current scene entrance, including its original crate positions, switches and hazard phase. Completed scenes remain completed. There is no limited stock of lives.

Hold a jump; read the next landing

Move with the arrow keys or A/D, a phone's left virtual stick, or a gamepad's left stick. Jump with Space, W, up, the jump button, or gamepad A. Holding the button gives a longer jump. Build running speed before a gap rather than jumping from a standstill at its edge.

A slightly short jump can catch a ledge. Press jump again to climb; press down to let go. A small grace period makes an input just after leaving a platform possible. Raised switches require standing near their height, so an absent interaction prompt can mean that you need to climb first.

Crates, cover and breathing machinery

Use E, the hand button, gamepad X or RT near a mechanism. To push a crate, hold action while moving. A crate on a round floor plate opens its connected gate. Leave the weight on the plate and move your character over it instead of pushing it away again.

Low walls shelter you from sentry light while crouching. Use down or S, the crouch button, gamepad B or LT. Wait for the light to pass behind you, then cross toward the next cover. Red industrial beams give a visible warning before they turn on. Crouching does not solve every hazard: wait for an inactive interval.

The present and its echo

Collect the lens in the Memory Garden to enable time shifting with X, the diamond button or gamepad Y. Translucent platforms are a route in the other time state. Read where the next landing will be, jump, then shift. Your current platform may disappear too.

Mirror mechanisms cycle through four directions. Small dots and direction marks show the target; connected light advances through correct mirrors. A later blue circle can leave your echo briefly holding a position. Act inside it, then use the open route while the echo remains. Remember the red scarf and the gestures you saw earlier.

A journey you can leave and resume

Scene transitions save progress on the device. The opening screen lets you revisit reached chapters. GameNow account storage lets another device retrieve the journey explicitly. Choosing to retrieve a cloud save replaces the active device progress; sending a recommendation link never includes the save or account identity.

Portrait and landscape layouts use the shared GameNow virtual stick and gamepad library. The opening screen uses a lightweight illustration, loading the 3D models and music after you start. Pause, tab visibility and the common mute setting apply to both gameplay and sound.

Shared resources, room for discovery

CC0 character and environment models come from the registered Quaternius and Kenney packs in the GameNow library. Music and material effects reuse the common library. Four additional Kenney Sci-Fi Sounds cues were downloaded, documented and registered as an immutable portal and time-shift pack. File-level sources and licenses appear in the game's credits.

ECHOES is a solo story, not a simultaneous multiplayer session. Share its public address from the opening screen, pause menu or ending. The best invitation leaves room for your friend to notice the recurring objects. GameNow's portal connects different worlds; this adventure asks you to look at the portal itself.
