What is it?

Guide a parade of cube pets home. Dig, build, bash and blast through 24 puzzle levels in four worlds, or race up to eight players online to bring your herd home first. Touch and gamepad supported.

PET PARADE is a crowd-guiding puzzle in the Lemmings tradition, built with three.js. Cube animals drop out of a blue pipe one after another and walk straight ahead on their own. They climb any step up to half their height, turn around at anything taller, and get carried back to the barn if they fall more than six body heights, drop into water or lava, or touch spikes. You never steer a pet directly. You pick one of eight jobs and tap a pet to give it that job.

The campaign has 24 levels in four worlds: Meadow, Caves, Snowfield and Volcano. Each level gives a fixed number of each job, says how many pets must reach the door, and sets two higher counts for the second and third star. The ground is made of small cells that can be dug, bashed and blown away, while steel cannot be broken by anything.

Online races put up to eight players on the same course at the same time. Everyone solves their own copy of the map, and the first to bring the target number home wins.

How to play

  1. Pick a job from the bar at the bottom (or keys 1–8).
  2. Click a pet to give it that job. Dig, build and bash to make a path.
  3. STOP holds the herd back; BOOM the stopper when the path is ready.
  4. BUILD lays a 12-plank staircase; BASH, MINE and DIG tunnel through the ground. Nothing breaks steel.
  5. Press Space to pause — you can still give jobs while paused. F speeds things up.
  6. In online races everyone solves the same map; the first to bring the target number home wins. Bots can fill empty seats.

Modes

Adventure
Twenty-four levels opened one at a time; clearing a level with at least one star unlocks the next. Worlds 1 and 2 introduce the jobs one by one, and worlds 3 and 4 combine them under time pressure and fast release rates.
Invite friends
Create a room and share the link or four-letter code. The host picks one of six courses, how many empty seats to fill with bots and how skilled the bots are, and starts once everyone is ready.

Good to know

  • CLIMB and FLOAT stay for good — you can give them mid-fall.
  • Builders are slower than walkers — don’t let followers run off the unfinished stairs!
  • In online races, faded pets are your rivals. There’s no pause.

Strategy tips

Pause, then assign

In Adventure the pause button stops the clock but still accepts jobs, so you can line up a builder or digger exactly. Races have no pause and no fast forward.

Builders are slower than walkers

A builder lays a three-cell plank every half second and climbs one cell for every two it moves, about four cells a second, while walkers cover five. Pets released close behind will catch up and walk off the unfinished end. Slow the release or put a stopper behind the builder first.

Extend a staircase

A builder carries 12 planks. Giving BUILD again while it has three or fewer left adds 12 more to the same staircase, which is how the longer water gaps are crossed.

Freeing a stopper

A stopper turns back every pet that walks toward it and never moves on its own. Give it BOOM once the path is clear, or dig right beside it: the five-cell-wide shaft removes its footing and it walks on. If only stoppers are left, the level ends and they count as lost.

Steel decides the route

Bashers, miners and diggers all stop on steel, and a blast leaves it untouched. When a straight tunnel is blocked low down, build a few steps first and switch the same pet to BASH higher up, or mine diagonally underneath.

How far a pet can fall

Pets survive falls of up to 24 cells, six times their height. An umbrella opens after six cells of falling and halves the falling speed, so FLOAT can be given mid-fall as long as it happens early enough.

Release rate is a race weapon

Release speeds 1 to 9 put 3 seconds down to 0.45 seconds between pets, and you can never go below a course's starting speed. In a race, finishing the path first and then turning the release up is usually what separates the places.

Developer notes

Commands, not positions

The simulation runs on whole numbers at 20 steps a second, and the only input is which job went to which pet on which step. The server can therefore rerun a cleared level from that short list and decide the stars itself instead of trusting a score sent by the browser.

One clock for every racer

In a race the server steps every player's copy of the map together, 200 milliseconds behind real time so commands have time to arrive. Your own map runs at the present moment and rewinds to a saved point if the server had to move one of your commands to a later step. Rivals' pets are replayed from their confirmed commands 400 milliseconds late and drawn faded on your map.

Every level has a written solution

Each map ships with a step-by-step solution that the automated tests replay to prove it can be cleared, while a second test checks that doing nothing fails. Race bots follow the same solution: easy bots keep the starting release, normal bots raise it by two, and hard bots use the speeds written in the solution.

Questions and answers

Do I need an account?

No. Every level and online race works as a guest, and your progress stays on that device. If you sign in with GameNow later, your cleared levels are checked by the server and moved to your account.

Why did a pet disappear?

It fell more than six times its own height, landed in water or lava, touched spikes, or was holding a BOOM when the fuse ran out. Those pets go back to the barn and don't count toward the goal.

How is a race decided?

Places follow the simulation step at which each player's home count first reached the target, so two players reaching it on the same step share the place. Others have 30 seconds after the first arrival, and anyone who can no longer reach the target is marked as out.

Can I play on a phone or with a controller?

Yes. Tap job buttons and pets, drag to pan and pinch to zoom; landscape shows more of the map. A standard gamepad works for the whole game, including menus, and Select opens the GameNow menu.

What do the stars mean?

One star is the level's goal count, and two higher counts give the second and third star. Your best result per level keeps the most stars, then the most pets home, then the fastest finish.
