What is it?
Ember Vault is a solo deckbuilding roguelite. Like Slay the Spire, every turn gives you 3 energy and 5 cards to combine attack, guard and cycle cards while you read the enemy's next move shown above it.
Choose combat, elite, rest, shop and letter rooms across 9 rooms to reach the last Archivist. 30 cards and 6 relics make every deck different.
Free runs start instantly without an account. The daily vault gives everyone the same start, and GameNow sign-in saves your record.
How to play
- 'Begin a journey' starts right away without an account. 'The daily vault' gives everyone the same start (by UTC date).
- Pick the next room on the map: combat, elite, rest, shop or letter. The rooms you choose shape your deck.
- Each combat turn gives 3 energy and 5 cards. Tap a card to see its effect and tap again to play it (PC: 1–9 to select, Enter to play).
- The icon above each enemy shows its next move. Stack block with guard cards before an attack, then press End turn (E).
- Win to earn gold and pick one card for your deck (or skip). Defeat the Archivist in room 9 to get your run score.
Good to know
- Block disappears at the start of your next turn. Stack only as much as the incoming damage instead of saving it.
- Burn deals damage every turn, strength raises attack damage, and thorns hit back at enemies that strike you.
- A smaller deck draws your best cards more often. Removing a weak card at the shop for 35 gold is often worth it.
- At a rest site, heal 30% of max HP or permanently upgrade a card. With enough HP, upgrading takes you further.
