What is it?

Deliver the verdict in an open-world city. Sneak, snipe and explore three cities (a harbor at dusk, a snowbound industrial city and neon night streets) to gather evidence and expose the crime, then carry out the verdict by sniper, disguise or sabotage. Three campaign chapters and online bounty hunts for up to 8 players. Touch and gamepad supported.

GRAND VERDICT is a third-person stealth and sniping game built with three.js. You play Rhea Kade, a former Interpol analyst who now works outside the law under the code name Verdict, with a handler called the Archivist on the radio. Her two rules are written into the scoring and the mission data: the Verdict phase opens only after every required piece of evidence is in the Docket, and each innocent you hurt costs 500 points.

Every operation runs the same five phases: Investigation, Proof and Truth, Infiltration, Verdict and Escape. Each chapter has seven pieces of evidence (wiretaps, photos, testimony, documents, sightings, footage), six required and one bonus. The target does not appear in the city until the Verdict phase begins.

Each city is built from a fixed seed on a 64 m grid of 8 by 6 blocks, with story sites set into the blocks and wild ground to the north that holds a jungle temple, a Cold War bunker or a mountain sanctuary. You carry a suppressed pistol, a sniper rifle and a camera, climb ledges and ladders, and can take cars from the street.

How to play

  1. Move with WASD and look with the mouse (click the screen once to lock it). Shift sprints, C crouches, Space jumps. On a gamepad, the left stick moves and the right stick looks.
  2. Follow the objectives at the top left and the ◇ markers, and hold E to eavesdrop, photograph or hack. Get close and press F for a quiet takedown.
  3. Right-click aims and left-click fires. R reloads; 1–3 (or Q) switch between pistol, sniper rifle and camera.
  4. Open the Docket with Tab (or J) to check your evidence. Once it is complete, deliver the verdict by sniping, disguise or sabotage, then shake off pursuit and get well away from the scene.
  5. In online bounty hunting, up to 8 players in the same city race to take down the bounty the server posts. You can shoot other hunters too, and bots fill empty seats.

Modes

Operations (Campaign)
Three chapters played in order; the next one unlocks once the previous chapter has a recorded result. Each has a 20-minute par time that feeds the time score, and your best score per operation is kept.
Free Roam
No mission: walk, drive, climb and look for sniper nests in any city whose chapter you have unlocked.
Online Bounty Hunt
Up to 8 players in one city race to take down the targets the server posts. The host picks the city (all three), 5, 8 or 12 minutes, 0 to 7 bots and Easy, Normal or Hard bot skill; everyone except the host must be ready, and the host can start alone.

Strategy tips

The S-rank arithmetic

A run scores 1,000 base, a method bonus (Disguise 800, Sabotage 700, Snipe 600, Direct assault 0), 250 for the bonus evidence, 800 stealth with no alarms (250 after one), 400 with no kills (160 after one), up to 600 for time, and 40 per lethal headshot. S needs 3,400: a clean disguise run with the bonus evidence reaches it under 15 minutes, without the bonus only under 6:40. Knockouts cost nothing except the Ghost title.

How guards notice you

Guards see 110° ahead to 26 m, 20 m in Shinkai's night. Crouching cuts that to 60%, crouching in a bush to 24%, and sprinting raises it by 20%. Walking and crouching make no sound they hear; jogging carries 4.5 m, sprinting 9 m, the pistol 9 m and the rifle 120 m. Alarms count at most once every 12 seconds, and the Wanted level drops one step after 12 seconds with nobody fighting.

Disguise rules

Take a uniform from a downed guard (this also hides the body) or from the chapter's locker: the jungle camp, the Object 17 bunker or the drone hangar. Disguised, you can stand in restricted areas, but a guard of that faction grows suspicious if you linger within 1.8 m, crouch within 6 m, or climb, force a lock, rig a device or take someone down in view. Each chapter's one elite guard at the Verdict scene sees through you from 3.4 m, more than twice as fast.

Making a shot count as Snipe

A rifle kill counts as Snipe if fired from at most 2 m below the marked nest (14 m tower, 18 m crane, 16 m tower) or from 45 m or more anywhere. The rifle hits along a straight line with no drop, and one body shot (140) beats the target's 130 health. Holding breath cuts scope sway to about a sixth. A miss is heard 120 m away and sends the target running.

Chapter 1: Sangre Dorada

The dock conversation takes 15 seconds within 6 m; if either speaker is alerted it resets and pauses for 12 seconds. The sun-marked container can be photographed from 40 m. The bonus manifest hack needs three needle hits, and three misses make noise. At the temple, four mirrors carry the light to the Sun Gate.

Chapter 2: Iron Requiem

Warehouse 9 needs a photo of the canisters from within 18 m and then a required four-hit hack for the Velika footage. In Object 17, turn the nine conduit tiles to link power to the blast door. Sabotaging the crane control panel takes a 3-second hold; Volkov then walks under the load and it drops on him.

Chapter 3: Neon Mandate

Reach the drone crate on the hotel roof by the fire escape. The bonus cult server is a five-hit hack. The robe locker sits in the drone hangar you visit for the payload photo. For the five lotus seals, press the centre (it flips all five), then the one outer seal that went dark.

Bounty Hunt

A bounty has 150 health and walks at 1.7 m/s, more than twice as fast once a hunter is within 18 m; after 150 seconds it escapes. A rifle body shot (140) does not finish it, a headshot does. Its two guards shoot the nearest hunter within 22 m, less accurately at crouching players and cars. A bounty is worth 100 (+25 headshot), a hunter 30.

Developer notes

The server rescores every run

The campaign runs in the browser, so I never trust the total it reports. The client sends time, alarms, kills, knockouts, innocents hurt, headshots, evidence ids, method and retries; the server rejects runs under 150 seconds, runs missing required evidence and more headshots than kills plus one, then scores it with the same function the result screen uses.

Missions are checked data

Each chapter is a JSON file validated against a JSON Schema, plus a semantic check the schema cannot express: every referenced person, prop and site exists, all required evidence can be collected before the Verdict phase, the target's route passes each sabotage trap, and every puzzle has a solution without starting solved. That keeps the rule of no verdict without proof from being broken by a data mistake.

Server authority in the hunt

Players send their position ten times a second and the server rejects moves faster than about 13 m/s on foot or 48 m/s in a car. Shots are sent as rays and checked against the last second of recorded positions. The bounty, its guards and the bots run on the server, which also decides health, points and the winner.

Questions and answers

Do I need the bonus evidence?

No. Investigation needs the three other objectives. The bonus hack adds 250 points and, with it, the Archivist title.

What if I kill the target another way?

It still completes the operation but counts as Direct assault, with no method bonus. Explosions from a set device count as Sabotage, and a takedown in the target's faction uniform counts as Disguise.

What happens when I go down?

You restart where you stood when the current phase began. Guards calm down and the Wanted level clears, but each retry takes 100 points off the score.

Does playing as a guest count?

Your best run for each operation stays on that device. Logging in uploads them, and the server checks and rescores them. Guest Bounty Hunt matches do not count toward the rankings.

How do the rankings work?

There are two boards, Operation Score and Bounty Hunt, each daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and all time. Operation Score adds only the amount by which you beat your previous best; Bounty Hunt adds your match score.
